Why spread hate when you can spread education and love?

So someone commented something in response to a comment I made on an article about a woman who was spreading racism. The underlying message was loud and clear. I was not allowed to be offended or say anything in retaliation to racist remarks, but I had to just shut up and allow racism to be spread, and have no opinion.
