Lately, I feel scattered, my mind is all over the place and it has become harder to know what on Earth I want from life.

When it comes to taking some sort of leap we want to wait till the time is perfectly right. Honestly? The perfect time doesn’t exist. Sure there are more ideal times to go for something, but waiting around for the timing to be perfect means that you are deferring something time and again. Perfect timing is an excuse to mask fear. The more we hide behind this the harder it becomes to do it. This is what holds a lot of people back from going for what they want. Eventually, so much time and opportunity pass by; before we know it, it could be too late.

And here I go again! — I haven’t been active on Medium much the past month, to be honest, and regarding my writing in general, I haven’t been as consistent as I had been the previous year. I went on holiday which threw everything out of whack and somehow I just never recovered from the post-holiday…

We hear how we should view life with a glass-half-full mentality; realistically we aren’t always going to feel this way. There are days when we feel like we’re drowning in the current of life. We’re allowed to sit in this feeling, it’s healthy to do for a period of time. However, doing this for too long is when it becomes unhealthy. We need to be able to feel without letting it consume our lives. It’s how we pick ourselves up that makes the difference. Getting knocked down multiple times isn’t a bad thing if you find a way to pick yourself back up every time. This builds resilience and strength that will prove valuable in the future.
